HOW DO I DELETE SOME CONTACTS FROM MY ADDRESS BOOK

Open address book highlight the person you wish to delete, menu bar click on edit, click delete card. That should remove that contact.

Or just click on the person you wish to delete and Command-Delete and select Yes.
