I had a few years ago connected keyboard to apple tv

When I found the solution I checked and Atv was on. Turned it off and reconnected keyboard to mac. All fine now pheeeew

Ok, what happens when I turn on my iMac the next day i worked on it and it doesn't connect to my previously paired wireless keyboard? I just can connect my mouse but i can't write with my mouse to enter the password for my user account, so, I can't access to my Bluetooth settings.

I turn on my iMac o turn on my wireless apple magic mouse and Wireless keyboard

The Magic mouse and the keyboard were previously paired with the iMac

Ok, what happens when I turn on my iMac the next day i worked on it and it doesn't connect to my previously paired wireless keyboard? I just can connect my mouse but i can't write with my mouse to enter the password for my user account, so, I can't access to my Bluetooth settings.

My iMac gets into the login screen, "type your username and password to continue" screen...

The magic mouse gets detected and start working

The keyboard doesn`t get detected and enters in Discovery Mode (Led flashing)

Can't type password....

Ok, this may or may not work for you, but I simply pressed the Option (alt) key & the Shift key at the same time (I have a 2011 Bluetooth keyboard) and voila, it worked! It recognized my keyboard & I could immediately start typing my password to log in. Hope that helps!

It seems I found a solution:

disconnect every USB peripherals from you mac, also mouse, printers, etc.

Then shut it down, and turn it on again (restart doesn't seems to always work).

Now the bluetooth keyboard connection panel will be prompted again.

You are the most helpful person on earth. I was about to go by a USB keyboard and this post totally solved my problem. Thank you.
