Default search engine keeps switching to Yahoo

I use Firefox, Chrome & Safari as network browsers. Suddenly, all of them are defaulting to Yahoo as the search engine. If I go into prefences and change it back to Google, it switches back to Yahoo immediately. It also switches my home page to Yahoo on all three browsers.

I recently installed new 3D software critical to my workflow, so I'm guessing that that has something to do with it, but I have no idea how to track this down.

Any help?

There is an extremely easy way to resolve this. I had run into this issue too, and I decided to tinker my preferences a little and I found that I had an extension called Search Genius. I turned it off, and now my Safari is Yahoo-free and back to normal. To remove this extension, follow these steps:

Launch Safari
Click the "Safari" tab at the top left of the screen
Select "preferences"
Select "Extensions"
Click the checkbox next to Search Genius (or any other extension of the sort)
Close out of the preferences
Completely close Safari
Relaunch Safari normally

You can also completely uninstall extensions like this by clicking on the uninstall button below it.

Aside from attempting to reset browser preferences check your applications in your applications folder... Yahoo's default system can infiltrate other apps like dropbox and soforth...it may take a whil to get rid of it. Good luck.

It did definitely Help. Remove extension from Safari, Extension then remove unknown extension.

I had the same issue. I uninstalled utility named "Search Page" and it resolved my issue.
