weird color space problem with screen saver and icons...
I started having problems with my screensaver (it wouldn't start), and power saving mode (it also wouldn't start). I managed to fix that with some help from the forum (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5011976?answerId=21973235022#21973235022). Now I've got everything working again, but I've got a new problem. Now that the screensaver is working, I've noticed that the colors are off, especially in images with a lot of red in them. There's clearly a colorspace problem here. I notice it when I set the finder to show icons as well. The colors are just washed out. There's no problem when I view the images in any other application (e.g. Preview, Photoshop, Safari, etc.). In fact I use the same directory of photos for my desktop picture as I use for the screensaver, and the desktop has the proper colorspace, while the screensaver doesn't. I've got a late 2012 iMac 27" running 10.8.3, and as far as I can tell this is a new problem for me. I've also got an older iMac also running 10.8.3, and it doesn't have the problem. It's definitely a little odd. My monitor is calibrated and like I said, the colors are correct everywhere but in the screensaver and in the icons. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
