I am getting an message when synching iPad1- apps cannot be determined. How do I resolve this so I can synch?

The first thing that I would try, is quit iTunes, restart your computer and restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
I tried all of these, but then as last chance effort, changed the cords and that worked.

I'm also seeing this message for the first time ever, and using a good quality but non-Apple Lightning connector. Will try my Apple cable and see if that fixes it...
Yes, switching back to my Apple cable (instead of the Belkin one) seems to have resolved the error. Thank you, Apple, for keeping me safe from the scourge of more reasonably-priced peripheral connectors!
No need to toss the cables just yet. I just flipped sides on my cable and that did the trick. Perhaps just plug/unplug mignt do it for you. Too early to judge a cable as malfunctioning based on a single failure.
