I'm hoping somebody can give me the information I need, I have a MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2009 on Mountain Lion (10.8.3). I currently only have 4GB of RAM and after seeing other posts about this from a few years ago, they seem to say that the RAM sometimes complies with the operating system, would it be possible to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM, any help in advance is very much appreciated.

The Mid 2009 MacBook Pro supports 8 GB of memory, but not 16 GB of memory. That's a restriction of the logic board.
You can buy memory at OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3
The processor is soldered onto the logic board, so you need a new logic board with a different processor, very difficult on a computer that needs a specific logic board designed for that MacBook

Thank you, and sorry I don't know very much but is there any way to lift the restriction? Also it is a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, can that be upgraded, if so then what to?
