Help!!! I accidentally put all 3000+ pics on my desktop :(

I somehow thought that if I put them all on my desktop it would save them to a folder, not put them all seperatly on my desktop 😟 Does anyone know how to wipe it clean, or will I have to just keep putting them in a folder one by one by one 😟 Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!!

I have a MacBook Pro Retina if that makes a difference on how this could be fixed!!!

Thanks,

Mallory 🙂

Open the AppleScript Editor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and run:

tell application "Finder"

move every file of desktop to (make folder)

end tell

Niel, I also have this problem. But when I run your script, it's giving me a time out error. (AppleEvent timed out).

How I got this problem was, I used a Text File Splitter (From app store) to split my .csv with about 4000 products. I guess I did something wrong because it made THOUSANDS OF .CSV files on my desktop that I can't get rid of.

I'm running OSX - and I'm just a little computer savvy so I was able to follow your directions to running that script. Do you have another avenue I could use where it won't time out?

Your help is EXTREMELY appreciated!

Your problem, hardware or software is not the same as that of the original poster of this older thread, and it can be very confusing for everybody if we try to answer more than one question in each thread, which can also result in you applying the wrong advice to your particular problem.

In order for us to give your problem our proper attention to try to solve it, would you kindly start your own thread, describing the trouble you are having in the fullest detail, including completing your details to show what Mac or iDevice you are using, what operating system, and what version of the application in question. Please remember to post in the forum relevant to your hardware or version of OS X. A full list of all the support forums is here:

I would recommend that you start your own thread in the Photos.app forum:
