Movies folder in Finder sidebar

This is hardly a major problem, but if there's a way of fixing it, I'd like to.

A few days ago I somehow managed to drag my Movies folder off of the sidebar in the Finder and it disappeared in a puff of smoke, as things do when dragged from the sidebar... I created a new folder, and all my movies are still there... but the folder is just a normal, plain folder - not the Movies icon folder. I've tried everything I can think of, but have no idea how to make it show that icon again. I'm sure it's something that's easily solved, but I just don't know how to do it... can anyone tell me?

Have you tied deleting the blank icon in Movies using "Get Info" to see if it restores the custom icon. If not you could create a new account and copy the icon from that Movie folder. Or you could send me an email and I'll send you the icon.

I know there is another way to restore those "special icons" that but I've been searching and can't find the answer right now.

EDIT: I assume creating a new folder and naming it "Movies" does not bring it back?

If you rename or move the Finder's special folders you lose the custom icons. The special icons in both the home folder and in the sidebar are automatically assigned by the Finder to folders with specific names in the home folder. Thus, if you have a folder named Movies at the root level of the home folder it will have a custom icon in your home folder and receive the special badge icon when dragged to the sidebar. Ditto for folders named Desktop, Documents, Music, Pictures and Public. If you reorganized things or renamed anything that might account for the problem. If you want you could renaming the current folder to OldMovies, then create a new folder in the home folder and call it Movies, then move all your movie files into the new one and delete the old one. Restart and see if the Finder now behaves correctly. Remember: it must be at the bottom level of the home folder, along with the other folders mentioned above, and have the exact name expected by Finder: Movies, plural with a capital M.
