Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

So lately I decided I was tired of Tiger, and decided I would upgrade to Leopard. Well I made the mistake of erasing the hard drive before I made sure it would work. Well now like the installer was before it failed. And now when I boot it just won't work

So lately I decided I was tired of Tiger, and decided I would upgrade to Leopard. Well I made the mistake of erasing the hard drive before I made sure it would work. Well now like the installer was before it failed. And now when I boot I get the normal finder/question mark flashing folder. I also found a power Mac g4 that needs a new operating system. It's running 9.2. It's going to my grandma as a gift. I really need help.

yes i have tried a usb kb but i still cant boot to open firmware. why cant i use open firmware? do i need a apple keyboard?

It's possible some Windows KBs might not work, but I have a couple here that do work, though before the OS is running, the Windows & alt keys are reversed.

It may be a burn of a system disc of a model that is incompatible with your Mac.

Hindsight being 20/20, I never have bought a Mac on eBay unless the original system discs were included in the purchase.

I was thinking if i could get it installed on another mac i could clone onto the hard drive in this mac

Likely so, if it's a version that will install to another PPC Mac.

I got it running tiger again. Could I use leopard assist to install leopard on this system? If so is it safe and okay to use leopard assist? I know how it sort of tricks the installer into thinking the system is compatible with the os. If I use leopard assist will "about this Mac" show the correct information?
