How do I sync icloud with my imac?

I have changed my some addresses and phone numbers on my address book on my iPad. Then I backed up the ipad to icloud. Then how do I get that same icloud information onto my address book on my imac? You would think that it would go there automatically, but it doesn't. I can't figure out how to sync them all together.

If you're running OS X 10.6.8 as your profile indicates you'll need to upgrade your OS to fully utilise iCloud on your Mac. Here are iCloud's requirements for a Mac:

If you do decide to upgrade the OS you may want to check out the tech specs for that. Worth noting that although they mention 2gb RAM as a requirement it seems that user experience suggests that at least 4gb is a must if using Mountain Lion is to be a happy experience. Also, some older apps will no longer work in MLion as Rosetta is no longer supported and may also need to be updated/replaced:
