Pitch Changing (like in old SE 16)??

I have a backing track and I want to change the key slightly (by a key or two). I used to do this in SoundEdit 16, which I believe became Deck and is now Peak. I have the freeware version that came with FCP, but that function is grayed out.

Has anyone done this with any other program, or if not has anyone done this with Peak? Don't know how pricey the program is, but I wouldn't be using it for anything but this slight key changing.

Any suggestions or references much appreciated.

thanks

Hmm. Well, I found Master Pitch and I adjust the fader but it doesn't seem to change the pitch at all, I've gone the full range of the shift and it plays back same as before. GB Help is even more confusing.

I don't know if I was clear that this is a real recording and i want to shift the pitch just a bit, which I realize will change the timing as well.

I am running 10.4.6, so then I have this AUPitch plug-in, although I'm not sure how to find it or to find out if my GarageBand is using it.

If I'm missing anything could someone spell it out?

thanks so much
