Hello, I have just become a new Mac user and would like to transfer my email from Outlook express on my old PC to Outlook on my new Mac. What is the best way to do this?

Know how to convert DBX to PST manually
1) Open the Outlook and click on file tab, click Open > Import/Export.
2) Click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.
3) Click Outlook Express
4) Select the import mail check box.
5) Click next and finish.

Note that if you have already set up your computer, Migration Assistant will create a new user with the data. To access to this user, go to > Log Out, and log in the new account. OS X will ask you what account you want to use every time you start up the iMac
Thanks mende1 for your reply. I have tried to do as you said but my PC keeps coming up with an error saying " migration assistant has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Looks way to difficult. I think i will just start from new with mail on my mac. I will be keeping my old pc for the kids to use so can access it at any time if need be.

another question now! i have set up outlook as my email default program but i am still getting the email coming thru to the mac mail as well as the outook program. How do i close down mac mail and just use outlook?
When Mail is closed, it doesn't receive any mail. Just close Mail and you won't receive more mails in this app. To close Mail, open Mail and press Command and Q keys, or right-click the icon in the Dock and close this app
