Despite the fact that it is reversible, my power cord split open and frayed. Really cheap. Wish I could post a photo!

Careful with your charger and its cable
Do not make any hard bends or folds in your charging cable, or wind it tightly, always make either circles or loose loops when winding your cord up for storage. Also do not, as many people have seen, unroll your charger block from the magsafe end by letting the charger drop and unroll itself like a yo-yo, this is both hard on the charger and its connection points at both ends.

They have transitioned to PVC-free cords. The planet is safer and the cords are not as durable.

I have 3 chargers over 5 years old, none are frayed.
So hope it's true. But not convinced :/
Maybe it's because they're from a batch that's over five-years-old. Mine were one and two years old.
I have new ones as well (2011 and 2013), how do you wrap yours when not in use?

Please, mine took less than a year, but since I had dropped my Macbook (when not connected) it was out of warranty! It is such a ripoff.
Yeah, I've received SIX faulty ones in three years. Not one has held up. All I do is sit in bed and use my MacBook. It's not stressed.
