Anyways I notice then when I boot-up into my account its about twice as slow as logging into my admin account for the first time. Granted the admin account has nothing loaded into it so this may be a reason. But other symptoms are that iMessages no longer works nor syncs with my iPhone and Apple tech support has hinted at my user account being the culprit, especially since it works just fine in the admin account. If I were to create a new user account I want all my data, settings, and apps intact. How would I do this?

I backup my machine all the time. But my question is this. Will I be able to work while Iam running this command? I am in the middle of doing lots of forms on the web and I have much to get done.

You are right about the web. Someone on Macrumurs gave me left field advice and boasted of how ot worked for him and all the others that took his advice. I tried it and it failed and I lost some apps because of it. Yes I coud use Time Machine to get them back, but one cant just copy a app as there are sytem files and other stuff that a app brings along.

The command should take no more than a few minutes to run, and it shouldn't interrupt your work, even if it takes longer than that. Hypothetically, if something were to go wrong and you lost data, it might take hours to get back to where you are now. To reiterate, I promise nothing, expecially not that it will solve your problem, and if you have doubts, you shouldn't do it.
