Why does font always install with error?

I'm trying to install the free font Xenophobia. I've downloaded it from five different locations and always get the 'name' table structure error when installing. Are some fonts just not compatible with MAC OS X?

I think you just need to browse around on font sites looking for a suitable font. When I am adding fonts I routinely find about one out of every four has some sort of fault, and to avoid later problems I always delete them. Still, since I am only using free fonts that's pretty good I think. I have not identified any pattern to the faulty fonts and I don't know of any way to check them prior to installation, although obviously it is theoretically possible. Some font problems might not give you any grief, but I've seen some pretty weird problems caused by font issues, especially with Microsoft Word, so I recommend playing it safe.

Hope that helps.

Ivan
