Macbook white (mid 2009) battery replacement?

Hello, I recently discovered that my macbook white 13" (bought in 2009) has almost finished its battery cycles.
I tried looking up battery replacements but they all seem not compatible with my battery ( asmb016 ) and can't find any battery with this model.

How can I know which battery can replace mine? Can I replace this model with another one?
Thank you

Hi,

Just because the number of cycles has reached a certain number doesn't mean you have to replace it. Base your decision on how much actual run time you get out of the battery and if you're satisfied with it.

Also, it is correct that Apple doesn't make batteries, but the manufacturers they use must follow Apple's specifications. As you can never find out what those specifications are, nor whether a certain battery is made from an Apple supplier, nor even if it is, if it uses the same cells/parts, buying a bargain battery is a craps shoot. If you go that route, make sure it at least has a one year warranty. Consider this one, considered to be a leading battery supplier for Macs: High Capacity Battery For Apple MacBook 13" White

If you have an Early 2009 MacBook, you can replace the battery yourself. You can buy it at the Apple Store > http://store.apple.com/us/go/product/MA561LL/A

Batteries for non-Unibody MacBooks are the same as you can see, but it's important to get it from Apple. If you have a Late 2009 MacBook, I recommend you to take it to an Apple Store or reseller to get your battery replaced

You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

Or for $129 from The Apple Store http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA566LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY

Apple doesn’t make any batteries. They buy them from the same manufacturers that the third party sellers are buying from. The only difference is that Apple has their logo imprinted on the battery.
