Transfer photos from Galaxy s4 to iPhoto
Hi
How do I transfer photos from a Galaxy s4 to iphoto.
I'm running 10.8.3, iphoto 9.4.3.
Trust me, I wish I didn't have to ask.

The only possible way to do that I can think of is to connect the Galaxy to your Mac with a USB cable, open iPhoto and see if it recognizes it as a camera. If it doesn't try using Image Capture.
If all else fails contact Galaxy support.

Bump will not work with a desktop Mac.
Old thread now but I find the easiest way is to use Dropbox. I have Dropbox on an S4, set to auto upload pics from the phone. Dropbox on the Mac is installed an enabled also. It creates a Dropbox folder in Mac Finder that gets the pics as soon as they are taken. I then just import to Aperture from the Mac DB folder. Painless, wireless. Simple.
When you connect via usb port to imac on the top bar of the galaxy s4 it'll show the little USB symbol. Click that and click "connect as camera." Then iphoto pops up and bam!
Just figured it out. yay!
Yes, this worked for me too, however, every single photo on the device was listed. My expectation is for only the images in the Android Pictures user folder be displayed, not every single image from all system folders as well. Literally over a 1000 pictures were displayed when connecting the phone when I only had about 50 in the Pictures folder.
as you say...almost nice... but the fact it scans the entire device for pictures is the issue.. I also see multiple sizes of each picture.. 256x256 etc..all the way up to Large .. having Iphoto work out which directory to scan would be nice on a camera 'access'..
Be nice to clear all the crap out but thats more a Samsung issue than Apple...
From the USB PC connection options screen already mentioned, instead of selecting Media device (MTP), you should select Camera (PTP) .... iPhoto will then recognise the device and manage it as any other camera-like device.
this works great! tx
Does the iphoto need to be the latest one? cause I tried using iphoto 09 and even after I selected PTP on my phone Samsung note 4 my iphoto 09 won't read it as camera?
Thanks for this. I know it's from a while back, but it worked for me. Downloaded the photos in moments.
I was able to switch the connection to "Camera" and everything loaded up in iPhoto perfectly. I had previously tried some really stupid and slow workarounds and this is 100% what I needed. Thank you!
