IWhen I open websites like Facebook or Walmart, I get connected to a "porn"site called firsthottesttube.com How can I get rid of this?

This started today. When I open some websites, like Facebook.com & walmart.com after the page opens it immediately opens to what at first looks like a page of children's toy coupons. But when I looked up the website on Google it is clearly a **** site. I cannot get to the websites I am trying to open. How can I get rid of this page? I have always used Firefox. It does not happen on Safari.

MacBook (13-inch Aluminum Late 2008), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), I have an Ipad2

For the mum and dads out there just use your common sense

The problem is, that's not good enough. Common sense often doesn't mean much when it comes to protecting yourself against malware. For example, does your common sense tell you to disable Java in your web browser? Probably not, and if yours does, that's unusual. Education is important.

If you choose to use anti-virus software, that's fine, but you need to do two things. First, make sure you choose a decent one. There's a lot of anti-virus software that is either not much good or has a tendency to cause other problems, or both. Second, don't assume your anti-virus software will protect you. It won't. I've seen loads of people who got infected despite having anti-virus software installed and kept up-to-date.

For more information on all this, see my Mac Malware Guide.
