Single vertical blue line down the middle of the screen...
Today i was on my computer and i was using my 23" Cinema Display when all of a sudden there was a single solid blue line traveling down the middle of my screen. I was wondering if anyone knows of any drivers or anything that might be able to fix this without me having to go into the store, thanks...
I would try plugging it into another computer first. But it looks like the LCD is broken. Pixels on an LCD are addressed by an entire line, so seeing that one line is completely bad makes it appear to be a hardware failure.
I've got exactly the same thing happening with my 23inch Cinema HD display (connected to a G5). I first suspected the video card but the monitor does the same thing when connected to another computer, so it must be the LCD itself. More than annoying as the monitor is just out of warranty, and I do graphic design and have to often make screen shots. Funny how my ancient 22-inch Cinema display circa year 2000 never had a problem like this.
I say Phil got it right. A dead column driver or bad connection from the driver to the pixel column. I hope you have a warranty because there is not much to do except send it off for repair.
