Compressing Video_TS?

On my Windows machine, I used a free program called DVD Shrink to back up copies of my DVDs. It would compress the Video_TS files on a DVD into a size that just fit onto a DVD. If I put a DVD into my MBP, I can open the CD up and copy the Video_TS files onto my hard drive, however, these files are about 8 gigs. I would need to somehow compress this 8 gigs into 4.7gigs to then burn onto DVD. Does anyone know of how to do this? Preferably for free but all options are welcome.

Thanks! How do I go about using this program? Do I first put the Video_TS folder from the DVD to the computer, or do it all in one step in the program?

Toast is good. Not free but if you look hard you can find it for $70 with $20 back.

There are a couple other options out there. The one I have had the most luck with is DVD2OneX.

Dual 2 GHz G5, iBook 500 Mac OS X (10.3.6)

You can use MacTheRipper (free software) to copy the VIDEO_TS folder to the HD, and then Toast Titanium (not free) to burn the DVD. If the TS folder is bigger than 4,7GB then Toast automatically compresses it to fit on a single layer disk.
