If I reset my iPhone will it still be unlocked?

Hi

I have had a quick search for the answer to this but cannot find it.

Basically I have the iPhone 4 16gb, it was on Vodafone contract, and I had it unlocked by Vodafone last year.

The contract has now ended and I've upgraded, so I want to sell it, but if I "Erase All Content And Settings" I'm not sure if the phone will still be unlocked to all networks?

I would like it back to factory settings but still unlocked.

Thank You in advance for any help 🙂

If Vodafone unlocked it, it was a legitimate unlock; there should be no problem restoring it and you will be able to use it with a diffrent carrier as well.

I have the same question. I have an iphone 4s given to me by a friend from Australia. It was Vodafone, but when I inserted other SIM from here in the Philippines, I was just prompted to activate it and so I did and now I can use our SIM card here. I just want to know that if I will reset it, will it be locked again?

The answer is still the same as FelipeV gave at the start of the thread.

If your iPhone was legitimately unlocked by the original wireless provider,

it will remain unlocked after a reset. If your iPhone was hacked to unlock it

from the Australian (or other) wireless provider, it will relock to that original

wireless provider after a reset.

FYI: you necro-posted to a thread that is more than 2 years old and has been marked

solved. In the future, you would get better response starting your own thread.
