What can I do if I microwave my iPhone?

Microwaving an iPhone may only cause it to toast, and end up getting your screen white. Just like my old iPhone 4. Take a look, 7 years ago when I put it into a microwave, a hole was made, and it smelled like smoke/ash.

Well, I spoke too soon. I see he posted in another microwave thread that had been happily dead for two years. He managed to bring up EverythingApplePro in that one. Sigh. Thought we were done with this.

An out of warranty replacement is $229. If you'd dropped it or gotten it wet, I'm sure Apple would replace it for that... having actually microwaved it... all you can do is make an appointment at the genius bar and see what they say.

Take it to Apple (a store), be prepared to hear that is toast broken, you will have to pay for a replacement as I am sure that the warranty will not cover this.

What rumors prompted you to do this unusual procedure?

Personally, I think that people who claim to have done that are trolling. Can't imagine anyone that would fall for that.

Oh... I believe it After 25 years in IT, I believe some people would do almost anything. I have an intern working for me this summer. He asked me about it the other day... seriously... Made me stop and think about what kinf of projects I'm going to be giving him going forward.
