10.8.4 kills SMB Shares, Anyone else have this? tested on 2 servers
Mac Pro, OS X Server, 10.8.4
Mac Pro, OS X Server, 10.8.4
Just taking a look at my issue I've noticed the same exact behavior on my MacPro and MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.4 while trying to connect through SMB (Command + K) to the Windows Server at my work. It won't let me connect using SMB and also after upgrading all other Mac's on the Network disappeared.
I was doing some research but no luck I was forced to downgrade, at least on one of my Mac's, so I could keep working. In a forum I found an utility (SMBUp - http://eduo.info/apps/smbup) that helped me to at least see other Mac's on the Network. I really hope this gets fixed it's driving me crazy and definitely is slowing me down.
Hello all.... Not sure if any of you are still monitoring this forum but if you are, I just got off the phone with apple... Seems that update may have broken some permissions in regards to "Volumes". I repaired disk permissions on my boot disk and now it's fixed!!!!!
An upgrade to Mavericks fixed this issue for me.
I believe that what @thechrispinowrote is probably the issue. A friend of mine tried differents things in which between them was repairing the disk for permissions and after finishing all that he found out that SMB was working again.
As for me upgrading to Mavericks in both of my Mac's worked fine.
