Horrible battery life after 10.8.4 update?

Computer: 2010 MacBook Pro 15"

OSx version: 10.8.4

I updated my computer yesterday to OSx 10.8.4.

While I was on 10.8.3 after a startup with nothing running my mac showed 5-7 hours or so of battery life.

With 10.8.4 it now shows 2-3 hours if im lucky after a startup with nothing running.

As I post this I started at 100%, I have been using my computer for not even 20 min now and its down to 80%

The computer shows the battery condition is normal, and my energy saver settings are optimized with graphic swithcing, hard disk sleep, etc..

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

@snowboardrx10

i downgraded from 10.8 back to 10.7, the battery life has gotten better but i swear it was still not as good as before i upgraded to 10.8

i got about 7+ hr using 10.7.4 before upgraded to 10.8. now i get about 5-6+ after i downgraded from 10.8 to 10.7.5

i think 10.8 somehow trashed something which does not make any sense to me. i am curious if others experience the same after downgrading back to 10.7.x

Sorry for the late post.

In my tests I've only seen a small improvement of about a half hour. That has been while running 7 programs (iTunes, iMessage, Email, Safari, Google Chrome, uTorrent, Twitter). Otherwise, pretty much the same terrible battery life.

I'm hoping that Mavericks will help correct this. If anyone sees a big change with the new OS please post. I feel as if we are alone on this.
