Macbook pro stuck on boot screen lion pls help.

Hello,

I hope someone can help me. My macbook pro 2007 running lion with ssd drive has suddenly decided not to finishing booting. It turns on ok and chimes but seems to be stuck on startup. Grey screen with apple logo, but no spinning wheel. I have tried everything to get it to boot but it just won't go past the static logo. I have done the pram reset, reboot from original discs, changed the HD back to the original sata drive, tried to boot from external drive with lion install, tried to boot from lions repair partition, i have tried safe boot (apple+s), (apple+v) but i can't get the terminal bit that people talk about, tried apple+c with boot disc. it just won't budge. i managed to do a hardware test from original disc and there where no errors found.

It happened after i couldn't wake the computer from sleep one morning and i had to force shut down. Also the batterie is dead, not sure if that makes a difference. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on this?I have attached two pics of the screen when i boot in safe mode. Thank you.

Also the battery is dead, not sure if that makes a difference.

Makes all the difference in the world, you will need to get that fixed before you can do anything else as the machine will not work without it now.

Call Apple and make arrangements to have your battery replaced.

It's possible your #1 SMC needs a reset, then charge the battery up over a few days on a good power source (no other items on the line) and see if that works.

If it's a outside access and a removeable battery I don't see why not.

Ok so if i put a working battery in the old macbook pro it should boot up or allow me to boot up. Is there anything else i should do for it to work?

Obviously rest the SMC and PRAM, let it charge up good, then continue fixing depending upon what occurs.

I have replaced the battery with a working battery but still i cannot boot up. I reset the pram but that's all i can really do. How do i reset the smc if i can't boot up? Thanks

I don't really understand in Order to reset i need to take the battery out and press power for 5 seconds and then put the battery back? Correct? It hasn't made any difference. Same screen on boot. Grey screen with apple logo. Please tell me i am missing something. Thanks for your help.
