Hello, I purchased an IPhone 5 and a new iPad within the last few months. I have an ancestry.com account, and they have a Save Photo option that allows me to save images to my computer. But, I can't find where the photos are! I checked my camera roll and photo albums, no luck there.
I went into settings>general> restrictions and made sure that changes to photos were allowed. Tried agan, no luck there either. Any ideas? Thanks!

I suppose you are using the Web interface inside Safari. Yes, this is normal behaviour on the iPad. The iPad does not have a file system as you understand it so it cannot save pictures that way. It works only on a computer. But if you can display the full size image in the browser, you can tap and hold the picture. You will then get an option to save it. When you do, you can find it in Camera app in the Camera Roll.
Or better, maybe use the Ancestry.com app. There may be a way to save them that way.

On ancestry.com, when you open a record, it appears as an image on the screen. Usually we're talking about a scanned image of an old census record, an old immigration manifest, etc. There's a "Save" option on the screen when the record comes up. When you click on it, it then gives you the option "Save to my computer..."
I've done that, the computer seems to spend a moment processing it....and that's it. If my iPad or iPhone really are saving the image, I have no idea where. And, for all I know, for some reason it's not saving them.
You are saving photos to your iPad or computer as you stated? If to the iPad, how are you saving photos?
