Itunes AUDIOBOOK not sharing to cloud or other devices?

I love audiobooks, but last week I bought my 1st Audiobook from Itunes and it sits on my macbook pro at home.

Why? Because it says it won't upload to Icloud. I need this book on my Iphone 5 to listen during my commute to **** and back (I man HECK and back) every day. Thanks! 😝

What I have tried:

1. I have the equip/OS below and just updated yesterday to the new Itunes OS. Still, no luck.

2. I have tried reclassifying the "kind" in Itunes to music, voicememo, every other kind available, still won't appear in my Iphone 5.

3. I have tried burning sage and dancing around said macbook pro whilst chanting.

Clarifications:

1. I have looked under "bookshelf" to see if it randomly put my audiobook in that part of phone. - Nope.

2. When I changed kind to "podcast" I looked in "podcasts app" (which I hate as much as everyone else I will bet) and looked for it there on phone -. Nope.

3. The Ipod classic used to do something like this and I would go into my music library folder itself, change the file type extension there occasionally. It did work in that case to do a hard-sync. (I think it was .mp3 to .mp4, years ago) . But I have not been that savvy in a while so have NOT tried any of that on current issue.

Idle Threats:

I will be getting a refund on the audiobook if possible if this does not work. And will buy my books elsewhere in the future. (This is certain to send Apple's stock crashing. And then the rest of the economy. Civilization as we know it will end. So your prompt replies are vital in this matter to preserve our way of life in the great US of A.)

Hello Sky,

I find the way you've presented your question to be quite interesting - nicely done. 😝

Now, you didn't mention this, but I'm thinking you may have just overlooked this. Just plug your iPhone into the computer and manually sync, making sure Sync Audiobooks is checked under the Books section. That should do the trick!! You will find it in the Music app under More > Audiobooks after the sync. (Indeed it's kind of an odd situation the way that works.)

Audiobooks don't (yet) sync between devices via iCloud. If you purchase a song on your Mac, it will also download on your iPhone (same with books and apps if enabled), but that does not occur with audiobooks. Hopefully this situation will be improved a bit with iOS 7!

I was hoping apple may be considering adding audiobooks to the cloud also. Ever since the iTunes upgrade back in 2012 I have not been able to consistantly access my iTunes on my PC as far as syncing to the iTunes store and my devices. I have had 3 geniuses work on my computer and it always undoes thex fixes. Since music and videos are available on the cloud I have been surviving for the most part but not with my books. I have a decent size library on iTunes 40-50 audiobooks purchased from iTunes directly. Unfortunately I cannot transfer them on and off my phone from my PC. I tried going to the audiobook section of itunes and a few of my favorites I wanted on my phone were not available for download like movie or music you have already purchased - They are only purchase. It would be AWESOME if audio books were available on the Cloud

Hi - I think I can help.

Audiobooks don't transfer to iCloud as the file size exceeds the maximum file size allowed for upload / syncing. You need to split the file into a number of smaller ones and then reclassify the files as music files. You can split the file with a piece of software called Audio Book Builder. It's fairly easy to use, and should help.

I don't see why the size would matter because I have bought movies which are huge files

and they are available on the cloud.

Audiobooks from iTunes are a once-only download. Whilst you can sync them between devices using a USB cable, you cannot redownload them again from the iTunes Store.
