I can't get the typing keyboard to open. Help

Can anyone help with this problem. Can't seem to find out how to restore the typing keyboard on my IPad2. It does not matter what app I use and I've even looked in general settings "keyboard".

Do you use a Bluetooth keyboard with the iPad? If you do, make sure that you turn the keyboard off and turn Bluetooth off on the iPad.


I read in a discussion here some months ago where another Bluetooth device (gaming console) in the same room prevented the keyboard from popping up for one user. At least that was the OP's claim.
