Macbook Pro Rev B.

My apologies if there has recently been a post made about this but I was curious if anyone had any relatively solid speculation as to how long it would be before there was a MBP Rev. B and Apple will have a whine free MBP? Or at least have the major quirks worked out of this machine. I owned a MBP but the whine was too much to handle, then on top of other hardware problems I ended up returning it. I now have a Macbook and I'm into more problems (power brick sizzling, whine, and turning on by itself). I'm just getting frustrated and it looks like this one will be returned. I know that putting out a product and working through the issues seems to be a Rev. A expectancy...but I'm considering just using an old laptop and waiting until these appear to be stable. I'd love to go back to the MBP as it was a beautiful machine (as is the MB).

Any ideas as so how long of a wait it would be before they have all these quirks worked out (mostly the whine), so "work arounds" are not needed?

Mine doesn't whine on battery or AC. The other

two
MBPs that I had whined while on battery.

You should consider yourself very lucky because I
don't know of many people who don't have the whine in
some form either on AC or on battery. In most cases
it seems to be while on battery power.

I'm thinking about selling it. I can see the ebay add now... "Certified Whine Free!"

I bet I can make some serious $$ from it.

All kidding aside I am very happy to have a quiet one.

I just got a Week 22 MBP this morning...absolutely no whine on AC power, and a slight whine while on battery power that can only be heard in a completely silent room...even the refrigerator in my kitchen muffles it. Even when the whine is audible it's honestly not much louder than the PowerBook G4 1.33 GHz it replaced...just goes on and off and seems a different pitch, and is thus a bit more annoying than the G4 if one concentrates heavily on it. Have yet to apply any of the updates, though, so perhaps those will quiet it further?

Overall I am thrilled with the new laptop (have been playing with it for about three hours straight now). I got mine with a glossy screen as well and it does not reflect too much at all...it's gorgeous.
