Help for wrong facebook Notification

System Preferences/Mail, Contacts and Calendars. Try deleting your account, restarting and setting the account up again. The restart might be overkill.

I have the same issue. My wife and I share the Mac. Right now I'm logged in under my account but I get hers (and my) notifications.

Removing the account doesn't work.

No fix. I thought I stumbled across something once that described how one person resolved but haven't found it since.

The issue is obviously somewhere there's a file that's got the other credentials stored.

When I bought the macbook pro, I used one of my friend's account for facebook, and although I deleted the account I do still get the notifications in the sidebar!

There has to be a solution! I do not want to see the notifications of my friend's account!

I've got the exact same problem here. :O

So do I. The problem is I have to return my macbook to my office as I'm leaving. Offcourse I can turn off the notifications but the new owner can turn them on again and will see my facebook notifications😠

I'm not sure, but try to delete the facebook details in the keychain, they should be stored there.

Got rid of the wrong notifications!

Feels more like a workaround than a solution, but it worked.

Go to Facebook web page. Go under privacy->more settings->security.

Then invalidate de active sessions that you have.

If applicable, sign out of iCloud in the iCloud preference pane. Leave the preference pane open.

Back up all data.

Triple-click the line below to select it:

Hey everyone... I just went through this and I thought I was going to pull my hair out... and kick the person who used my laptop!

Just go into "Settings" and click on "Internet Accounts" (it looks like the @ sign) and then click on Facebook and click the minus ➖sign at he bottom. It will delete the account and it will get rid of the notifications. Then to add your own personal account, click the plus sign ➕ and you can use your own log in....

It was frustrating... but i figred it out!!!!
