Error - No associated application could be found when clicking on web link in Mail

No associated application could be found.

Mail links produce an error message

I get a error message when I try to open a hyper link in mail (no associated application found)

All my mail links come up with "No associated application could be found". What should I do?

I have Mtn. Lion 10.8 and all of a sudden started being unable to click on links within e-mails without getting error message: No associated applicatiaon could be found. Tried the solution: Run Disk Utility (in Utilities), select the Macintosh HD volume and do a Repair Disk Permissions. Did not resolve the problem. Tried going back to Safari to make it my default browser, then back to Chrome to make it my default browswer and that fixed the problem.

Thanks, Liz. I was having the same problem. It was driving me crazy. I saw that Chrome was my default browser and I change it back to Safari. I can open the links now.
