Is iWeb '09 compatible with Mavericks or Mountain Lion

No, because as Roger has already pointed out iWeb 11 does not exist. It is the iLife 11 boxed set that contains iWeb 09, with both the iLife 09 and 11 boxed sets contain iWeb 09.

Am I right in thinking that though the actual application is the same, there are more templates in one or the other version?

Yes, I believe that if you purchase iLife 09, you will get all the newest templates as opposed to iLife 11.

Both iLife 09 and 11 conatin iWeb 3.

However, if you think you might ever want to use iDVD to create video DVDs and get all of its themes at some time in the future then iLife 09 is the version you want to get.

I also use iWeb every day with Mountain Lion and also will not upgrade to Mavericks until I'm sure iWeb works. I'll keep checking this site until I get a definitive answer.

It works. I've been using iWeb 3 with Mavericks for a month now.

If I remember correctly you use QuicKeys? Have you used this with Mavericks?

Very grateful some of you have taken the risk of upgrading without knowing and share with us that iWeb still works under Mavericks... it's important for me too.

I know iWeb has been disbanded for ages but it shouldn't have been and I will keep using it till a substantially new OS appears and it will no longer work. And then I may decide not to upgrade the OS anymore. :-)

QK broke with Mt. Lion and the developers probably won't be updating it anytime soon. Their only coder for QK died, had a terminal illness that he didn't tell them about, and they were caught flat footed without someone to work on it.

I've since moved over to Keyboard Maestro and am extremely happy with it. It does everthing QK can do but gives you a searchable list view of your macros in case you forgot what the key combination is. Wish I had found it sooner:

I hope I don't have to look into that - I've got over 300 shortcuts...

I was able to run both QK and KM in Mt. Lion and use QK to enter insert test into the KM app. That make it much easier to move most of the QK shortcuts over to KM.

I may have to go there eventually...I'm in no hurry to get into Mavericks (still on Snow Leopard on a 2007 iMac and a 2010 MapBook Pro).
