Does apple wipe the data from recycled iPod Touches/iPhones
A friend of mine stored some important data on his ipod touch for quick access. So, one day his ipod became a little damaged and he ended up taking his iPod Touch to Apple to get it fixed. They said they couldn't fix the problem and instead told him that he could give them his old Ipod Touch for money off and that he could buy a new one on the spot. So, he makes this impulsive decision and gives them his old Ipod Touch and walks out with a new one. A year later he realizes after restoring data from the date that he gave his old iPod touch that he had important data like his Social Security nuber still on there, and he can't remember if he still had a password at that time. So the question is, does Apple wipe the data immediately after receiving the old device? He's been worrying big time, worrying that an Apple employee might want to use it and commit identity theft which i believe is unlikely. So do they immediately wipe the data?
