How to stop notification mails coming from the "Reminders" app when it is shared ?

Hello everyone, 🙂

I've shared my app "Reminder" with my girlfriend.. and everytime I'm adding a reminder to any lists, she's notified with an email.

As I'm using it mainly for groceries.. she's indeed receiving a lot of emails !! And that's useless to us. 😕

How can I desactivate the notification mail from the "Reminders" app on my iPhone or somewhere else ?

Thanks for your answers. 😉

I found this on another thread:

  1. open iCloud in a web browser.
  2. Log into iCloud
  3. click on your name in the upper right to open the settings
  4. click on Notifications in the Account dialog that comes up
  5. In the Notifications section turn off Reminders & Calendar switches.
  6. use the back button in the upper right of the Notifications pane to go back to the Account pane so you can save the settings ****IMPORTANT****
  7. Select "Done" to save the settings <- Make sure you do this!

If you then want to turn Calendar notifications back on you can go back in and turn that back on.

Thanks for your answer Kritini but the only thing that turning off the Reminders notifications do is to not show me if something has changed in the application Reminders (no little red number in the corner of the icon of the app if me or my girlfriend add something to the list).

I think the notification section in the iCloud window is a very different thing compared to the notification mail and I really can't find how to turn off those emails.

Thanks anyway for trying to help me... Other advice ?

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with apple support about this - I hadn't realized when I posted my update that it hadnt actually fixed my problem either. I'm being told that this is how it was designed to work, so I think our best option is to set up a filter on our mail clients to send those messages to the trash bin. 😟

It doesn't look like spam as I can't see what information they would be harvesting as all links appear to be legit Apple links

First smart statement. Good for you, you already one for one here. It is not spam, during transition from MobileMe, multiple people received storage transfers, sometimes with comps, cause Icloud didn't have nominations of MobileMe. That e-mail seems to conclude end of transition. There is no information to gain, that is NOT PHISHING. Even if you feel it is, there is no need to call apple, they have address for forwarding those. Overdoing and everything else is politely called "a tad bit paranoid", which means .....

Here is address for report :

Another support call to Apple draws a line under the issue. I have two iCloud accounts, once of which used to be a MobileMe account. I stopped using the MobileMe account when I signed up to iCloud (for a good reason which I don't remember and now regret). I set up an auto forward to my new iCloud account from the old, and hence the message got forwarded.

In essence, I have two iCloud accounts, they can't be merged (that old chestnut), and the one eligible for free storage is the one I don't use any more.

hopefully this is the last rumble from MobileMe.
