How do I enable SNMP on Airport Extreme 802.11ac?
I just replaced an older Airport Extreme 802.1n with an 802.11ac, and I cannot find a way to enable SNMP. I was using this for tracking my WAN traffic with Netuse Traffic Monitor.
You can make a difference in the Apple Support Community!

"community password" was the airport password.
This is incorrect.. it stays public.
Bridge should not make any difference.
All good, thanks for your help LaPastenague. Monitoring now. I notice you use the PeakHour app - do you recommend it? I just grabbed NetUse but it doesn't seem to show bandwidth usage by IP which is what I am really trying to get from my airport - that is all the connecting IP bandwidth usage not just the gross usage of the airport.
Peak hour is a very good tool..
I use it more for test purposes.. but it cannot show you stuff in bridge.. other than its own ports.. In router mode it might show you more.
I do not use apple products to view (and more importantly control bandwidth). I use a router with gargoyle firmware.. which is hugely superior in every way.. you can use any cheap router on the list.. but if you want something new please google it yourself.. Apple delete my posts for providing too much help.
Let me try to help with some screenshots.. maybe I can get away with these.
Here is my current usage.
Here is the distribution.
Here is my son's current usage.
Notice that nice rather smooth and rather exact limitation to his download.. that is because I set him a throttle.. otherwise he is excessive.
That is because I set him exactly that value..
So let me recommend gargoyle.. not only can you see who is using what.. exactly and over time..
But you can set limits ie quota to them and you can set bandwidth throttles once they exceed it.. nothing out of the box has this level of control.
TThis is VERY useful. Thank you.
Just bought a new 6th gen AC model to replace my older one. Immediately found out no SNMP support. It has been returned already. This is ridiculous, these days with all the cloud stuff and with bandwidth caps it's important to monitor your bandwidth. Very stupid of Apple to be removing this support that could easily be secured by leaving it only on the LAN side and not allow from WAN. I already sent in a feedback to Apple but I'm sure it's of no use. At this point I'm looking for a used 5th gen.
