Try the troubleshooting suggestions in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and if that does not help, a user has found that it helps to:
Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode and Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode and Do Not Disturb OFF
If that does not help, backup your content and go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and then restore from the backup.
If that still does not help, take it to an Apple store genius bar for testing by the technicians.

You sir, are annoying and don't offer any helpful information. I don't know why your so **** bent on trying to convince people that you know everything and Apple can never do wrong, but you are useless to me and your advice is too.

Does podmod have a site?
They might, but the rules of this site prohibit any non-Apple advertising. It also prohibits discussing any non-Apple authorized procedures. Therefore, anyone that posted such a link would be violating the rules of this forum.
Use Google to search for non-Apple authorized procedures & services. This is not the place for that.
So, your'e annoyed that I'm reminding you of the rules you agreed to when you signed up for this forum? Then don't break the rules.
I've NEVER said Apple can do no wrong. I've stated that my opinion is that the warranty should be longer than one year, that Apple should offer special considerations for certain issues, etcetera.
But my opinion of what Apple should do isn't relevant here. What IS relevant are the approved policies of Apple, and what the Apple-approved procedures are.
That includes the rules of this forum. If you don't want to be reminded of when you are violating them (or about to violate them), re-read the rules, and follow them.
And as far as advice? Have you contacted Apple Support and asked for an exception?
your best option if you are out of warranty is to contact Apple Support immediately, and ask for an exception to the normal warranty replacement options. Ask for a supervisor if you need to. The answer might still be 'no', but it doesn't hurt to ask.
This forum is not the place to get advice for non-Apple authorized or approved procedures. If the Apple authorized and approved procedures aren't to your liking, then seek out another forum.
Thanks for being Apple's pet but kindly step aside so I can get some actual useful information. š
So, instead of engaging in an actual conversation or debate, you're referencing Billy Madison?
The technical question has been answered. The proper procedures have been provided:
Use this article: iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim - Support - Apple
Follow all of the troubleshooting steps. You can even try restoring the device as new: iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If the wi-fi remains greyed out, your device needs service.
If within warranty, it should be free.
If not, it will probably cost as follows:
For iPhone 4 and older: $149 USD + tax
For iPhone 4S: $199 USD + tax
For iPhone 5 and newer: $269 USD + tax
You can always request an exception to the normal warranty procedures by calling Apple Support.
That's it. Anything beyond that is not supported by Apple. Therefore, it is not supported by this forum.
Why is that so difficult for you to understand? The fact that you do not like the options does not give you the right to violate the rules of this forum.
Search for 'podmod' on your own. Use Google to search for it. This forum doesn't allow advertising or non-Apple authorized procedures.
The technical question has NOT been answered and the proper procedures are in your words "moot". So, once again, I have no inclination to listen to a non moderater or Apple employee so please, kindly, beat it. I don't know why your even on here.. ?
Is your wi-fi greyed out? Then follow the Apple troubleshooting articles. If the issue remains unresolved, do what the article tells you to do next:
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options
Did you contact Apple Support? What did they say? Did you ask for an exception if you are outside of warranty?
This is the proper, Apple authorized procedure to resolve this issue. If all of the steps fail to resolve the issue, then your device needs service. And the Apple options for that have been detailed, ad nauseum.
Now, since you are not satisfied with those Apple options, you want a non-Apple related option. That's fine, and I don't have any personal problem with you wanting such an option. However, this forum does not support non-Apple procedures. Once you've taken all the steps I've recommended, that's the end of the line for an Apple resolution.
If you want a third-party resolution, use a third-party forum or resource. It's that simple.
Apple's "proper authorized procedure" fails in all aspects. It's amazing that their solution at that point is to throw their hands in the air and suggest shelling out another $200 for another phone that will most likely have the same issues. I am not searching for a third-party resolution, I am requesting an actual Apple employee respond and offer some sort of resolution that actually works. Not some forum vigilante that regurgitate's useless information.
You are looking at the wrong place, this site is all fellow users, no Apple employees take part in this site.
You need to talk with Apple Support, http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 for an appropriate country number to call.

Then you're still in the wrong place. Again, per the terms of this forum, Apple does not monitor these forums. You will NOT get a direct response from Apple here.
If you want to talk to an Apple employee, go to an Apple Store or contact Apple Support.
And you were looking for a third-party solution. Podmod is not part of Apple. It's a third-party.
Additionally, the reolutions DO work. The last option, via Apple is to replace the device. That DOES resolve the issue. Just not in a manner that you like.
It's not that there are no resolutions being made available that will work. It's that you don't like the options.
Contact Apple Support. Request an EXCEPTION to the normal procedures. Either the answer will be 'yes' or 'no'.

That is my "thank you for being a forum vigilante and regurgitating the same useless information 5 different ways" face. Apple support forums thanks you for your stickler vigilantism and keeping riff raff like myself from mentioning anything besides the proper Apple authorized procedures code: 69435. š
You're welcome. I'm glad I was able to clear things up for you. Feel free to seek third-party options, as described, or use the contact methods, also as described, to talk to someone from Apple directly.
If you're waiting to get a response from Apple here on this forum... you'll be waiting a long time. But feel free to waste your time, if you want. It's your time to waste, after all. I just find it... amusing. Like watching a dog chase its own tail.
It's amusing to me too because I DO have time to waste and at the same time your wasting your own time. It's like chasing another dogs tail while that dog is chasing my tail! š
TJBUS, we get it. Your phone works great and you're here just to reply and add to your 2,895 points by reciting Apple procedures. It was frustrating weeding through this forum trying to find helpful information because you littered on every page.
I did contact Apple several times, I did go to the Genius Bar. I was told over and over again that "we'll fix it if you pay $200". When I declined, the guy at GB actually told me that I "don't really even need Wi-fi if I have a laptop" (what!?!?!) and I can "just use headphones in the car".
I think most of us are on this forum to 1) find a solution that hopefully works for our phone and 2) vent. It's a "support" community and sometimes it's nice to just read about other people's similar experiences. No need to police every little thing.
What is most frustrating to me is the inconsistency and lack of Apple's solution. Some US users in the beginning had their phones replaced, warranty void or not, some users in other countries got new phones, no questions asked. When the issue became prevalent, they shut down communication and told us to open our wallets.
I know I know, none of us were "required" to update to iOS7, but have you foregone an update? I waited a few weeks after the release and my phone was lagging terribly. We just wish that Apple stood by its products enough to acknowledge this is a defect on their part. We pay a premium for the premium phone, after all.
For everyone freezing and heating at home... this is a very temporary solution and could end up damaging the phone permanently.
I hope we can find a real resolution soon!
The difference is you're trying to resolve your technical issuse, and making no progress. That's the reason you're on this site; to resolve your technical issue. Yet, every minute you spend on this site is a wasted minute, seeking a resolution that will not appear here. You've been given all of the official Apple options. None of them are satisfactory to you.
Your options are:
A) Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Retail Store to talk to an actual Apple employee. Explain your issue. Request an exception since you're outside of your warranty.
B) Seek a third-party resolution elsewhere. Google and Bing are both useful search engines.
Your first post was looking for a third-party option. But then, you changed your story, saying you wanted a response from Apple. Either way, this site is no longer of any use to you, for this issue.
All I did was explain that it was unlikely you would receive a response to your question: "Does podmod have a site?", because providing third-party guidance isn't allowed here. Which is why I recommended searching for it elsewhere.
It's like you've walked into a Subway, and are asking for a Big Mac. You're not going to get a Big Mac from Subway. And you're not going to get third party directions from this site. At least, not from anyone that is following the rules of the site.
Instead of waiting for someone that is willing to break the rules of the site, and risk the consequences of doing so, why not simply do your own search?
You're fighting a losing battle. On this forum, the rules require we stick to the actual technical issues, as well as the Apple supported procedures. If you are unsatisfied with the Apple procedures, either provide feedback to Apple at www.apple.com/feedback, or contact Apple directly. Or, seek out a third-party resolution.
