New update for UK users. I ended up paying £159 for a replacement 4S. The good news is that Apple have changed their policy and now, as well as a 3 month guarantee Apple will cover replacement phones you have paid for for 6 years for hardware problems. I only found this out after tons of correspondence an phone calls and visits to the store but it was what convinced me to lay out yet more cash after having 4 replacements in 2 years for different hardware issues. Now I have a working wifi button and when my phone plays up again - which I'm sure it will - at least I hope they will replace it without a quibble

Thanks Been Beenie. Your input was quite valueable. Not really a straight forward process rather a bit long; but according to the consumer law, I got my phone replaced. The only bad experience in the process was the store genius(es) who were least helpful and kind of pushing always to pay for a fix (atleast in my case; it was a manager but who straight away refused to accept the consumer law. I showed him Apple's own webpage but he was blunt in saying that he hasn't got time to go through all this; they don't entertain consumer law at all ! ). The online and telephonic support was all very helpful and not to praise them would also be unfair and its because of them my case was resolved.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION. My wifi and bluetooth both randomly stopped working. I tried everything from restoring to resetting my network problems and none of these solutions worked.

So I let my battery run down fully. I then kept trying to start it (to use up any remaining battery power). After 5-6 times of trying to restart it, i connected it to the charger and turned it on....and it works!! Wifi and bluetook are back!

Hope this helps! 🙂

Slow down Ice man.

The issue is via an overheating scenario being created by iOS 7, it has nothing to do with the hardware, its a software issue.

ALSO - the issue is not being addressed, no updates, no free upgrades, no coherrent ability to downgrade to iOS6 and most of all no admittance from Apple.

None of that would happen from Jobs, cuz he'd read these boards and go rattle some cages.
