Hi, my dad is moving to Cyprus and he's selling his iPhone 5. A women has offered me a iPhone 4S and cash. The iPhone is from Greece, is it different to an English one in anyway and will it automatically be unlocked as apparently all phones in Greece are already unlocked. Also she said she has no paperwork to prove the phone is hers, can she ring apple and will they confirm the phone is hers and can they not do that?

When it comes to buying iphones from non "official" sources with a need for them to be unlocked, I've read too many posts from users who were taken advantaged of. I wouldn't bite.
So does this mean that the phone must be paid off and so there is no outstanding finance on it?

Okay thanks and I don't suppose you know, if I rang the provider the phone was originally on asking if it had been stolen, would they tell me or not?
If there is no receipt, there is no way to prove that the phone is legally bought.
