I am trying to use Watch Espn app on apple tv I activate successfully on my phone through verizon fios but it doesnt work..
What happens when you try to set it up on the Apple Tv?
Same here. HBO Go worked but ESPN gets hung up. I enter the passcode provided on th Apple TV into the web site they provide and my phone says the device has been activated but no action on the Apple TV. Did the same for HBO Go and two seconds later it was working.
Exact same issue. I tried multiple times with different verfication codes and each time FIOS says I'm activated. However, Watch ESPN remains locked on Apple TV.
I'm having the same issue activating Watch ESPN with Verizon FiOS. Sent ESPN an email, but they haven't responded yet. Anyone had any success with this?
Still can’t access ESPN3 on AppleTV even though I can on Mac. My ISP offers ESPN3 but I can’t access it on AppleTV. This makes no sense. So I still have to AirPlay.
Make sure you are accessing http://es.pn.com/appletv on a PC browser. Users are experiencing the 'activated but not working' issue with mobile browser activation. That was my case at least. I had no luck several times using an iPhone but activated with 1st attempt using a PC. YMMV
No such page. Also, I do not have cable TV. I Only have Internet. I can watch ESPN3 on my Mac because my ISP has it. My point is, can I access ESPN3 on AppleTV or do I have to keep Airplaying it to AppleTV?
I found a solution that worked for me ...i activated over a pc browser instead of a mobile one....
That only works if you have a cable TV account. I guess unless they make a way to activate for ISP-based ESPN3 it's still AirPlay.
I have a Comcast Internet only plan. I could not authenticate either. I have only tried using mobile devices though. I can access the live ESPN3 streams, but I have to go to Channels-->ESPN3. Selecting a love stream video form ESPN3 on the main screen of the app does not work.
I just activated two Apple TVs. One Gen2 and a Gen3. I had to use a PC and Internet Explorer. Worked like a charm.
Everything has a lock symbol on it, accessing channels/ESPN3.
And you have no cable TV service?
I have Charter internet only -- dropped cable TV and will not be going back -- and was able to authorize and can watch -- via Apple TV --, apparently, stuff on ESPN3 only. That is definitely better than a stick in the eye and I will take it. If entities like the NFL and the networks that carry it want to lose my interest in their sport, so be it.
I can watch some college football, college baseball, college basketball, golf, tennis, some MLB (there are also free MLB games via the Apple TV app) and some NBA. Oh, and cricket - still don't understand the rules to that but those guys have some serious skills in fielding that ball.
So that's actually a lot of sports.
