Hi, I'm a new mac-user...so are these sleeves something you are purchasing in addition to a case or something? It seems that if you have the sleeve you can just use any ordinary backpack to carry it around. I'm considering whether or not I should buy a sleeve or a case/backpack for the macbook.

I asked myself the same question since it will be my first laptop!

I decided to get a sleeve/slipcase (Be-EZ 'La Robe') since I already have a bag and just needed somthing to protect it inside there.

Haven't got it or my Macbook yet but according to the website (www.be-ez.com) it should fit exactly and it only costs about £20 which I think is reasonable.

If you need a bag I also spotted the 'La Vertigo' also from Be-EZ which is in the Apple store... worth a look!

I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago. I had already owned a backpack (it was even a laptop backpack). I just needed a sleeve for portability and added protection.

I ended up getting the Sleevecase from SFBags. I've posted a mini review and detailed photos on my blog. Feel free to check it out: http://marloelaine.com/2006/06/08/review-sleevecase-for-the-macbook/ .
