Does the new (ac) Airport Extreme support upnp? If not how do I use with my PS3?
Right now my slim ps3 keeps dropping its connection to PSN, and when I try to stream Netflix or Amazon video it has to cache every few seconds. Never had this problem with my netgear.
No, the AirPorts do NOT support UPnP. However, your PS3 should not have any difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi network provided by the AirPort. However, if PSN requires a router with UPnP capability, you will need to get yourself another router.
As far as remaining signed into PSN and streaming video, assigning a static IP to the PS3 seemed to resolve the problem. Haven't tried any online gaming yet though.
Not sure why the static IP would matter, but I'll take it.
