How to insert a movie into a slideshow?

I'm using iPhoto 6.0.6 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8. I'm creating a slide show, and I want to insert a video into the slideshow, so that I manually advance through the slides (I know how to set that up), and then manually start the movie, after which I manually step through the remaining slides.

The problem is that I can't find a way to get the movie into the slideshow. I created the movie in iMovie HD 6.0.3, and I have exported it as a self-contained QuickTime movie using QuickTime Pro. I just can't find a way to get the movie into the slideshow. Is it even possible with iPhoto 6.0.6?

Movie files can't be added to slideshows in iPhoto 6. That wasn't a feature until iPhoto 8 (09).

You can use a 3rd party slideshow creator app like PhotoPresenter which as over 20 animated themes, some of which can be viewed in this demo page: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes

Thanks for that. I'm dowloading PhotoPresenter now to check it out.

I've been using Front Row v1.1, which came with my MacBook Pro. I guess I'll need to determine whether the MBP's remote will work with PhotoPresenter. Otherwise, I'm in for updating to at least iPhoto 8...assuming I can find it.
