Mouse scroll direction resets at restart

My problem is that my mouse settings sometimes resets to default at system restart, especially annoying is the scroll direction which keeps falling back to natural. To add to the issue, the checkbox for natural scroll direction is still unchecked even though it actually is natural. I solve it now by checking and then unchecking the scoll direction.

I have tested with both a Magic Mouse and Logitech M510, both mouses experiences the same problem with OS X 10.8.3 and 10.8.4. The Magic Mouse worked with 10.8.1 (I think, earlier than 10.8.3 anyway).

Any suggestions?

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

Might be a corrupt .plist.

Do a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.
