Do you get paid to give great responses on the apple forums
So i noticed that theres a lot of people on here that have high levels and take it as a hobby to respond to these questions on the forums. I want to know if you get paid to do that?

There are a few Apple employees, called "Community Specialists", who do respond in these forums. Their posts can be identified by a black header bar, and the Apple logo under their name, e.g.:
Their job is primarily to look for questions that have gone unanswered for a couple of days or more and point people to Apple resources for addressing their problems.
None of the rest of us get paid anything to help out here. We do so because we want to help our fellow users, and speaking for myself I find that the best way to learn about problems and solutions is to help others solve their problems. I can't tell you much I've learned though my participation here.
Regards.

Absolutely not. Apple makes the site available and maintains it; other than that, it's users just like you. Personally, I look at it as volunteering and I enjoy helping others while still learning something new myself....
Money? No.
Mental rewards, sure. I feel good when I've helped someone. I also feel good when I've figured something out (puzzle solving).
I also learn more from helping. If the question is interesting, I do some research, and end up learning something I didn't know before. And when multiple people cooperate to help someone we learn from each other.

Ditto that! 🙂
No. We are all users like you and we log onto the forum on our own volition to help fellow users....

No, but we can earn privileges > Apple Support Communities - Earn points, status levels and privileges
Same here. The first few months I was a member, practically all I did was read, read, read. I had been using Macs for a while at work, but had recently purchased my first new Mac. Using someone else's computer is a lot different than owning one. You are now responsible for installation and removal of apps, maintenance and troubleshooting. This place was (and still is) a great, free venue to learn tons about the Mac and its OS.
The longer I hung around, the more I learned. The more I learned, the more able I was to look at a post and say, "I know the answer to that one!" 🙂 Then it just kind of stuck. I continue to learn more while helping wherever I think I can.
I will note if links to my website may give me compensation, but at this point compensation has been nil for many years. Still I put the remark there since I've been asked by moderators. I have tried as a matter of course to put links on the User Tips to avoid having to link to my website too much. I have recently tried to get people to say I refered them to a certain satellite TV carrier via my website without any success. It is however good practice when giving technical information to people who different knowledge at my own job.
It's to show your rank, if someone has a lot of points and he says yes and a different person with a low level says no you should trust the person with the highest level.
It more than just "helping others", as has been stated often, for me (though that is part).
For some it is "pay it forward", the idea that someone helped me once, and the best thing to do is contniue the tradition.
