dual monitors
Hey,
I will be upgrading to a new imac whenever the haswell refresh comes. I was wondering if i can use my old one (27" late 2011) as a secondary monitor.

Unless Apple removes that functionality, yes. Connect them with a Thunderbolt cable and put the old iMac into Target Display Mode.
