Permissions repairs

I seem to be finding this permission repair fairly regularly...is it normal and what does it mean?

Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”

Group differs on “Library/Preferences/com.apple.alf.plist”; should be 80; group is 0.

Repaired “Library/Preferences/com.apple.alf.plist”

Permissions repair complete

Thanks for any info!

As long as Repair Permissions completes you can safely ignore it.

If it causes you problems then see this thread

It means the the database that it checks against doesn't know that it should actually be 0, not 80. So it presents the discrepancy, then says it is fixing it, but it doesn't, because nothing is wrong.

Apple periodically publishes a list of Permission Repair errors you can safely ignore.

I'm not sure why it thinks that it should be 80. It should be the wheel group (gid=0).
