Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

On a windows phone, a SPB Bachup software, allowed you to back up your calendar and contacts onto your cell phone. If you made 100 changes, you could back up to your cell. If there was a problem, you restored from your i5 to your i5, exc cloud and itunes,

On a windows phone, a software package, SPB backup, allowed you to back up your calander and contacts to your cell phone. If you had entered multiple entries, and were still on the road, you could back up calander and contacts to your cell phone, and if there was a subsequent problem, you could simply restore from your cell phone to your cell phone. I am fully aware of icloud, as well as itunes back ups, both of which I find unsatisfactory, how can I back up my i5 calander and contacts to my i5, and restore from there if necessary??

Thanks

Jeff

There is no issue, it would seem you are just unsatisfied with answers given from the users trying to help. I still dont get why you wouldnt use iCloud, yes you need WiFi to back up the phone BUT you dont need WiFi to sync the contacts and calendars to the cloud. It would seem you dont quite grasp what icloud is and how to use it as you are under the impression that only a back up to the cloud woud save content when that is not the case. Syncing your content to the cloud would also save the content you are asking contacts & calendars.

The only thing is that it would save to the cloud and not your phone itself. When in theory it is safer to save to the cloud. Example would be you always backed up to your phone then it went missing or stolen, you cant do anything now the back ups are on the phone you no longer have hence why the cloud is the better alternative. Now wether you take the advice or not is up to you but we here are only trying to help open your eyes to what is available and how it can be useful to you. If you are just fixated on what you want regardless of how things are then i dont know why you ask.

All the best on your endeavours to find something close to what you are looking for.

Decipher
