If you are logged into Facebook on your iPod you might try logging out. I've not had it repeat.
okie. I logged out. is there anything esle i have to do?
I have no idea since I've not experienced this before now.
ah. I see, Im reinstalling the app too.
it like only pops up when my texting app is opened
That is a special kind of text message that should only be able to be sent by your cell phone's carrier (eg, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc). Some carriers have allowed these texts to be sent by anyone, though abuse has resulted in most of them ending that practice. Hackers sometimes find a way to get through anyway. Report it to your carrier.
This particular popup is a rogue ad and does not appear to be malware.

It's not happening to my phone. It's on my iPod.
So far it's hasn't popped up. I just wanna know if its something to worry about
Yeah, I noticed you saying that too. My investigation shows it can appear on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Android. Or even on a computer, if you spoof your user agent. It's definitely not a carrier message.
It doesn't look like it's anything to worry about, but I still would not click OK in case it sends you to a page that may be compromised somehow.
Well the ok got clicked once but it didn't do anything. Do you think that maybe resetting to the factory settings might work?
Duly reported to AT&T, they have not received reports of it and there is nothing on their community site. I do not know the details of how the "free" text apps work but the first report I saw of this was on a 4th Generation iPod Touch, there is now a 5th Generation report and an iPad. I did not get it on my iPad. The only one I've seen getting it multiple times is this one with the 4th Generation Touch.
Thought possibly it was sliding in behind the last carrier update but those would not go to a Touch.
