Problems with backing up.

Hi,

Trying to back up my iPhone 5 to iTunes. I believe I have the most recent updates of iTunes and my iPhone.

Also in preferences I have deleted all back ups. A message keeps coming up saying the back up is corrupt or incompatible with the iPhone.

Any help?

Thanks

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

If you have a Windows computer deleting the backup in Preferences does not always completely remove it; Windows Explorer is finicky that way. You need to go the the backup folder and actually delete the folder.

Since you didn't answer my question about what OS here are all of the locations for Windows:

  • Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
  • Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press the Return key.

Creating backup has never produced that message in any experience of mine, only when restoring the backup. What needs to be done here is to gather clearer information for what exactly the guy is clicking when he's supposedly "creating backup". The solution would be to backup to another source to see if the issue is still happening there too and then go from there or contact Apple themselves
