My Yamaha AV RX-V675 Reciever AirPlay icon will not click on.

I tried everything else I found on the web to make my Air Play working, but unsuccessfully until I disabled WiFi MultiMedia (WMM) on my router as suggested by Kreutel. I was occasionally able to stream via Air play, but with no more than 10-20% success rate and could drop connection without any reason. Now it looks pretty stable and I hope it stays like this 🙂
BTW my receiver is RX-V577.

This is follow up comment - for one hour my system worked properly and eventually Air Play dropped again without any reason and I can't make it work again.
All in all - I feel it's hopeless and I lost one day of my life 😟

HI there, I confirm that renaming the device is working (temporarily).

As for the WMM flag, I don't have it on my Netgear D6200 router, has anyone found an alternative setting for this brand?

This solved the problem that lingered around for months. I updated the firmware, reset to factory setting and have tried other countless options I saw on the net but only turning the sharing ON in iTunes preferences solved the issue. iTunes preferences>sharing>share my library on my local network.

Helpful thread! In my case I have a Yamaha HTR-7065 so similar to the RX series I'm sure. Same issue, could see the icon for my receiver on iPhone and iPad but would not let me toss the audio from my device to receiver. I used to be able to do this in the past. I'm hardwired to my router to the Yamaha with a static IP address.

Tried to change the name of the Yamaha as described at the bottom of the 1st page of this thread. Didn't work for me. BUT after that, I unplugged the Yamaha for about 15 seconds then plugged it back in. After that the AirPlay started working fine from my iPhone and iPad. Hope this helps!!

This thread is a bit old, but.

My Yamaha RX A820 did cut Airplay now and then.

I did this:

Write the transmitting MAC address into the network settings.

Hopefully it will help.

Or pull out the power cord to restart your Yamaha.

I know this is probably a little bit late, and you have already solved it; but how I did it on my Yamaha RX-V379 was by turning on Bluetooth for both, then holding down memory, I just tapped it in Bluetooth on my iPad, then bringing up control centre I could just tap it there. Although my one is just for music, I hope you can do what you wanted!

Still no success with my amplifier - running firmware 1.2.

It's not a wifi issue as I can access the amp as others have stated through the app on iphone and ipad.

Anyone got a resolution???

Slider200 - try turning off shuffle before selecting your song, and then turn it back on after the song starts playing.

BTW no Apple TV or other Apple devices apart from those mentioned above, just my normal household wireless router connected via cable to the 675

I think you are right. But this can only temporary fix the problem right? Airplay as you said on Yamaha is very unstable.
